This church is located on the south side of Corso Vittorio Emanuele in the Piazza Vidoni.

Here on July 15, 1807 were celebrated the funeral rites for King Henry IX and I in the presence of Pope Pius VII and some 27 cardinals. 1 Cardinal Pietro Francesco Galleffi sung the mass, while Pope Pius VII himself gave the absolution over the body. 2 The funeral would normally have occurred at the Basilica of San Lorenzo in Damaso, but that church was closed owing to renovation work.
